Welcome to Prahran Junior Football Club

Prahran Junior Football Club (PJFC) aims to provide an opportunity for the youth of our local community to participate in Australian Rules Football and enhance their health and well-being, build friendships and most of all have fun through organised sport.

Formed in 1975, our Club competes in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL), the largest junior football league in Victoria with 27 Clubs and over 9000 players, including a strong and growing girls competition.

In 2019, we look to build on our current 400+ players who play in approximately 18 teams across both boys and girls teams from U8s through to Youth Teams.

PJFC is a volunteer based organisation which relies almost entirely on volunteer parents to operate the Club.

The Prahran Junior Football Club encourages you, your family and friends to participate and support our wonderful Junior Football Club.

The seasons might be over but you can get your training fix and fine tune your skills with these great videos for the AFL Community website.

This video focusses on Kicking and introduces the point of impact as a starting point for kicking. It outlines the three critical learning points to ensure good impact is made with the ball:

– Control of the ball onto the foot

– Acceleration of the lower leg

– Firm foot

This video also considers the look, feel and sound of the kick as vital information to assist all players in learning and for possible improvements in their kicking. The video also introduces model kicks and explains that young players can model themselves on AFL players with sound kicking technique to aid their development. HAVE FUN!

Here come the Blues.
We won’t be beaten – we hate to lose.
We will beat them one and all,
The bigger they are the harder they fall.
Whether the odds be great or be small
Gallant Prahran will win overall.
You can hear the crowd all roaring

COME ON THE MIGHTY BLUES!!!
