Hello to all PJFC families,

PFC Gala Luncheon:

Last week I circulated the attached invitation for the Inaugural joint PJFC/PAFC Luncheon to be held on Friday 21st August. There will be a fundraising element to the luncheon to support both our junior and senior clubs as well as Cure the MND Foundation. There is a compelling list of auction items including the highlight of the day – a brand new s60 Volvo courtesy of Robert Barber and Volvo Cars Brighton. I strongly encourage you to join us for wonderful afternoon. Tickets are on sale now and I would love for each age group to book at least one table – just click the trybooking link to book.

U9 Lightning Carnival at Toorak Park

This Sunday, in addition to regular home and away games for our u10 and older teams, we are proud to be hosting the 2015 u9 SMJFL Lightning Carnival for our u9 teams as well 6 other clubs. The vibe at Toorak Park will be electric from early in the morning and it would be wonderful to see as many PJFC supporters in attendance as possible!

Parent, Supporter and Player behaviour in the finals:

While it is exciting for players, parents and supporters to attend or play in the upcoming finals and Lightning Carnivals it is timely to remind everyone of the standard of behaviour expected by the Club and the League.

I would ask that at all times you observe the Club/League Codes of Conduct – particularly with regard to respecting the umpiring decisions and appropriate spectator behaviour. Tensions can be a little higher than normal so as parents, sometimes we need to take a deep breath! We all want the boys and girls to enjoy their finals experience, win, lose or draw.

PJFC Presentation Day:

I would like to remind everyone that Sunday August 30th is the date for the annual PJFC Presentation Day – the day we acknowledge all the wonderful efforts our children have made throughout the year. Please stay tuned for more information but do keep the day free and invite all the family, aunts, uncles, grandparents etc. It will be a great day!

Disco inferno

Como Park Pavilion was a very different space last Saturday night as 160 kids from our younger age groups and the Prahran Netball Club descended on a brightly decorated and music filled room for a couple of hours of joyous mayhem. Well done to all our kids for joining in and an especially big thank you to all those on the organising committee, in particular Kate Brown. The feedback has been such that this is almost certain to become a regular fixture on the PJFC social calendar.

Kelly O’Dwyer’s community forum

Our local Federal Member hosted a forum this week to say ‘thank you’ to the many wonderful community groups in Stonnington. PJFC was invited to attend and is it was refreshing to hear the value of volunteering in our community and the importance of clubs such as ours that make the fabric of our society. Well done Kelly and the event was attended by Jason Gough and Jamie Gray from the club.

…and, of course, let’s be social!

Don’t forget that whilst we are a football club, we are also a community social club! As such, Friday nights’ Bar and BBQ is a massive part of our club and we’d love to see everyone realy partaking of our family atmosphere. SO on Friday night, let’s take the kids out to dinner at the club! Bar and canteen open from 4.30pm – come nad catch up with old friends and new!
